There is inherent risk associated with many roles and tasks on building and construction sites. Identification of these workplace hazards, the assessment of risks and the implementation of plans to control these risks are important safety aspects covered in the Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety qualification.

Course topics also include the application of OHS/ WHS legislation, regulation, codes and standards in the workplace. In particular, time is spent during the course monitoring and reviewing safety management systems.

Communication, conflict management and negotiation skills are examined and practised in the context of OHS/ WHS issue resolution, bullying and harassment claims and diversity and discrimination complaints. Participants will also specifically learn how to write safety documents including incident reports, safe work methods statements (SWMS) and provisional improvement notices (PINs).

This qualification puts you in the box seat for a promotion and is the qualification you need now at your workplace.
